8 SAVED AT BIBLE BAPTSIT IN BRIDGEPORT TX

GREAT DAY LORD SAVES 8 AT 68TH ANNIVERSARY
SERVICE
AT BIBLE BAPTIST IN BRIDGEPORT TX.I stopped in Reisel Tx for chicken and gave
picture tracts to all those working there.

Pastor took me to eat at Yesterdays Sat. Nite.
They had a Halloween Car Show out front with

Lots and lots of people and cars.

Also a few cartoon characters showed up.

A great opportunity to pass out
almost 200 tracts in 2 hours.

Inside the restaurant I preached to Marilyn Monroe.
She was a real dummy

This guy must have crawled out of a hole
because I think he was suppose to be a mole.

Pastor Dale Webster has done a great job
there at Bible Baptist. Good steadfast preacher
the kind that build the solid Ind. Bap. Churches

He and his wife Sharon have worked hard here and the
people have followed their leadership and the whole
church is a church full of great fun loving people
I really enjoyed the fellowship and preaching there.

The church was celebrating it's 68th anniversary.
This lady was one of the charter members and was honored.
Two of the 8 that was saved in the services that day.

This art work was done in a class room by one
of the members. I wish I had gotten her name.
She is really good, and did a great job on this

map on Paul's journeys.

If you are not getting these great cartoons,
contact http://www.joyfultoons.com/ and sign up.
You get one a week and it is free. I think
he lets you use them in your bulletin, but
it tells you more on the site.

Someone sent me this picture of the size of the deer in Michigan.
They use mousetraps to catch them up there. Not a Texas Deer. lol

Sent to me by Ed Gardner
MEMORIAL TO SHIFTY POWERS

We're hearing a lot today about big splashy memorial services. I want a nationwide memorial service for Darrell "Shifty" Powers.

Shifty volunteered for the airborne in WWII and served with Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 101st Airborne Infantry. If you've seen Band of Brothers on HBO or the History Channel, you know Shifty. His character appears in all 10 episodes, and Shifty himself is interviewed in several of them.

I met Shifty in the Philadelphia airport several years ago. I didn't know who he was at the time. I just saw an elderly gentleman having trouble reading his ticket. I offered to help, assured him that he was at the right gate, and noticed the "Screaming Eagle", the symbol of the 101st Airborne, on his hat.

Making conversation, I asked him if he'd been in the 101st Airborne or if his son was serving. He said quietly that he had been in the 101st. I thanked him for his service, then asked him when he served, and how many jumps he made.

Quietly and humbly, he said "Well, I guess I signed up in 1941 or so, and was in until sometime in 1945 . . . " at which point my heart skipped.

At that point, again, very humbly, he said "I made the 5 training jumps at Toccoa, and then jumped into Normandy . . . . do you know where Normandy is?" At this point my heart stopped.

I told him yes, I know exactly where Normandy was, and I know what D-Day was. At that point he said "I also made a second jump into Holland, into Arnhem." I was standing with a genuine war hero . . . . and then I realized that it was June, just after the anniversary of D-Day.

I asked Shifty if he was on his way back from France, and he said "Yes. And it's real sad because these days so few of the guys are left, and those that are, lots of them can't make the trip." My heart was in my throat and I didn't know what to say.

I helped Shifty get onto the plane and then realized he was back in Coach, while I was in First Class. I sent the flight attendant back to get him and said that I wanted to switch seats. When Shifty came forward, I got up out of the seat and told him I wanted him to have it, that I'd take his in coach.

He said "No, son, you enjoy that seat. Just knowing that there are still some who remember what we did and still care is enough to make an old man very happy." His eyes were filling up as he said it. And mine are brimming up now as I write this.

Shifty died on June 17, 2009 in Dickenson County, Virginia after fighting cancer. There was no parade. No big event in Staples Center. No wall to wall, back to back ,24x7 news coverage. No weeping fans on television.

And that's not right. Let's give Shifty his own Memorial Service, online, in our own quiet way. Please forward this email to everyone you know. Especially to the veterans.

Rest in peace, Shifty.

And while you think about Shifty Powers, here's one more recent, and known to me ...

SPEAKING AND PASSING OUT TRACTS AT OBMAMA PROTEST AT A&M.

PREACHED LAST NIGHT AT
CALVARY BAPTIST IN HEMPSTEAD TX

Pastor Kenneth Shelton has done a great job there
but has had a rough physical year this year with knee
surgery and a really slow recovery, and a mini stroke
with surgery to remove a blockage. He is doing better
but really needs our prays, please pray for him.

Sister Shelton at the piano with the other ladies
sang a great song before I preached.
We had good services and I preached not as JW
but using some drawings on my drawing board.

Norma ready to go to church and
freezing at 60 degrees. ha ha.

PROTEST OF OBAMA'S POLICES AT TEXAS A&M I made the photos into cartoons, Hope you enjoy them.
Above one of the Aggie core members with the crowd.

This is some of the College Republicans that had
me speak at the event. I spoke on Partiotism, the flag,
Gun rights, and Freedom and the Alamo.

I passed out over 300 tracts at this event. Not
every conservative patriot is saved, so they
need the Gospel too. If you look close you will see
tracts in the crowd above.

8 SAVED AT NEW TABOR BRETHERN CHURCH CALDWELL TX

NEW TABOR BRETHREN CHURCH IN CALDWELL TXA country church that invited me to speak at a
Cowboy type get together outside on Saturday.

A horse whisperer John Wyble couldn't bring a
wild horse to demonstrate because of the wet ground,
but did an excellent job of relating some cowboy stories
to the word of God. His wife saw me at a children's
library storytelling and invited me to their church.

This is Pastor Johnson watching John speak.
He has been there for about 5 years and knew
of me from the publicity of my being at Calvary Baptist
in Palestine, he had Pastored another church in Palestine.
when he Pastored another church there.

David and his wife Rhonda did a great Duet.
Another solo was done but I failed to get a pic.
After the music, I preached and the Lord saw
fit to save 3 in the services that cool, wet, eve.

The Pastor also leads the Choir and they just did
a great job sounding like a choir of 50.

Some of those that came. We had visitors and
5 received Christ as Savior in that service.

This family met me at McDonalds on
Thursday. They are from Tuzon, Az.

For you Italians, I am now growing
Cacusa (sp)Squash. Mmm are they good
pealed, cut in slices, battered in egg
and cornmeal and fried.

8 SAVED AT BAPTIST TEMPLE IN BURLINGTON NC

This is David Carter, Associate Pastor for his Dad.
He picked me up at the airport in Raleigh Durham.

This is Gavin, He is a big Duke fan and came
with the Associate Pastor to pick me up at the airport.

This is Pastor Don Carter Pastor of
Baptist Temple in Burlington NC.
He has been there many years and
has done a great job of standing for the faith.

They had a nice sign on the door. If you look
close you can see me taking the picture in the glass.

This young man greeted me at the door,
and with his 6'11" height made me
feel like I was Mickey Rooney.

Great song leader and outstanding choir,
singing the old songs and hymns that I love.

Some of the crowd that came with several visitors.
7 came to Jesus in the morning and 1 more that night.

They had a best western dress contest.

This is David and his Son Carson a big Duke fan
already from watching John Wayne movies with
his Dad. Carson even left his Grandpaw's arms at
where we ate to be held by me. Very unusual his
Grandpaw said for him to take to a stranger like that.
But I think he thought I was the guy he had
been watching on Televison with his Dad. lol

This is Pastor Carter's Mother. 100 years old,
and a real sweetheart. Had a good time meeting her.
