VA HOME IN KY AND VA HOSPITAL IN CINCINATTI

VISITING THE VA NURSING HOME IN KY

The Lil Lady in the picture, I wish I had written
d0wn her name, I have a hard time remembering names,
invited us into the VA nursing home across the Ohio line in Ky.

The pictures tell the story themselves, but here I
am passing out picture tracts before putting on a
show for those that were able to come down.

Because I could not go though the Chaplin,
I could not preach, but I did the first part of the
"Freedom and Sacrifice" message uplifting our Vets,
and then gave my testimony of what the Lord
did for me and for John Wayne.

They were able to do the video behind me.

The Lady on the left is another one that helped us.

ON TO THE VA HOSPITAL LATER THAT AFTERNOON

I did put on a show there too and gave out tracts.

Then we went to all the floors and rooms
thanking the vets for their service and passing
out over 300 tracts in the hospital.

Some are able to walk around

Here is a Lil Lady that is a Vet.

Of course I always thank the staff for
their service to the Vets and also give them
a picture.

It was quite moving to see the pics on this board
of what the Vets looked like in the their prime.

This is a Vietnam Vet that was a real hero.
He carried a fellow wounded soldier under
fire to safety and saved his life. He is one of the
most patriotic Americans I have ever met, and
a real hero. I spent about 10 minutes talking to
him and listening to his stories. Thank God for
Americans like this that have sacrificed and love
our country.

This is some that were outside the Hospital

I could not have done this without Pastor Horsley of
Temple Baptist
had his Secretary set it up and
he carried my tracts and water bottle for me all over the Hospital.
Also a big thanks to Tom Morgan, my friend that lives in the
Cincinnati area that took all the pictures you viewed.

4 EVENTS IN CINCINATTI

CHANGING PLANES IN HOUSTON

I heard this guitar playing in the waiting room

and went to investigate. I met Al on his way
to do a gig somewhere up north.

I pulled out my harmonica from my vest pocket
and asked him if he could play I'll Fly Away in the
key of C. He could and we wound up playing several
hymns for the captive audience there at Houston Intl.

I WAS WITH BAPTIST TEMPLE IN CINCINNATI

When I got to Cincinnati, I had one hour to get in
my motel room and clean up and speak at the final
night of the VBS. This lil lady started it with a pledge to the flag.

Some of the parents I got to preach to that night.

They had a bunch of kids there that night.

Of course the kids performed before I preached

Pastor Darrel Horsley was there too and enjoyed it.

ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON THEY HAD A BLOCK PARTY
Lots of games for the kids to do.

The concession stand raised money for the teens

Pastor Horsley participates in everything at the church,
He really enjoys his ministry of 22 years at Baptist Temple

I entertained and gave my testimony under this tent.

I SPOKE AT BOTH SUNDAY SERVICES

Pastor Horsley introduced me as John Wayne
impersonating Dr. Gene Howard.

We did not have anyone saved, but we had good
services, and got a warm reception from the church.

We had a good crowd and a few visitors

Two of the visitors were my friends Tom and Debbie Morgan.
They have been a blessing to our ministry for years,
and they live in the Cincinnati area.

THE 4TH EVENT WAS A VETERAN HOME IN KENTUCKY,
AND THE VETERAN HOSPITAL IN CINCINNATI.
Tom took the pictures for me and is sending them. I should have them up Tuesday.
No one was saved on this trip, but a lot of planting was done in those 4 days.

TRIPLEHEADER IN DALLAS AREA

EAST TEXAS BAPTIST CAMPMEETINGBro. and Sis. Bob Wills celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary
at the camp meeting, singing for the preachers and church members.
Bob makes my CD's and DVD's for me.

It was well attended with about 600 average Mon-Fri.

I met several preachers that I did not know and
got some possible bookings in the future.
I just did my poem about the flag for the crowd,
and enjoyed setting back and getting some tremendous preaching

This was the view I had from my sales table.

Dan Tarno did a lot of the putting together and Evangelist Singer
Bro. Erwin MC'd it and help get the talent in. He took me fishing
on a local lake for a couple of hours. No we didn't catch any this time.

SUNDAY AT HICKORY BAPTIST IN DENTON

Pastor Raymond Castro took the church running about 8
and has built it up to over 80 now and they are on fire for the Lord
Here I am with Pastor Castro and his Lil Lady.
No that cross is not sticking out of my hat.

No one was saved in the services, but a family joined
the church, and two more were Baptised.

GRAYSON-COLLINS ELECTRIC CO-OP

I entertained there and passed out about 400 picture tracts.

There were over 600 in attendance at the annual meeting.

Ben brought his stage coach for people to take picture with me.

These are workers at the Texas Road House in Denton Tx.
I passed out over 20 tracts to the workers there and many
more to customers that came up to our table.

OUR ANNIVERSARY DINNER AND JULY 6 CALVARY BAPTIST IN HEMPSTEAD

PICTURES OF OUR 48th ANNIVERSARY DINNER
We really had a good time and appreciate our home church
Texas Ave. Baptist providing the gift that made this a special day for us.

We arrived at Houston's restaurant in Houston about noon.
Norma is patiently waiting on her ribs.

As you can see I am saying oh yeahhhhh!
.

Norma is doing the finger licking good thing

One of our waiters took this picture,
but we should have had him close the blinds

This is all that was left of the best ribs in the world.
We also got an order to go for Norma's Mother Betty

Houston's has really good waiters, this is Marc

and this is Derrick
Both of them got picture tracts from me,
and I am writing their home office
to tell them what a great job they did
JULY 6th SERVICE AT CALVARY BAP. IN HEMPSTEAD, TX
This was Pastor Shelton"s (above) July 4th service on July 6th

It was very patriotic with a good crowd. There would have
Been a lot more, and more saved, but the radio station
did not run the commercials that they paid for and that I had cut.

The children and teens always help with displaying
the flags before the preaching takes place.

Their song leader Lonia Rice does a good job,
and makes great Brisket BBQ, I know I had some.
Pastor Shelton is no amatuer when it comes to BBQ ribs.

There were 2 that came for assurance and 1 for re-dedication
and Pastor Shelton led one lady to the Lord in his office after SS.
One young man raised his hand for salvation, and Bro. Ken will talk to his parents.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Parmer family showing up.
They live in Waller but saw the ad in the Waller Times and
came after their home church service for the afternoon service.

I became acquainted with Ted and Kim about 16 years ago.
Ted is a big John Wayne fan and Kim called me up and had me
surprise Ted by Norma and I going out to dinner with them.
They are a great family that love the Lord and our ministry.
